Aurum Node Pool was attacked for 50 BNB. The root cause was that the contract's changeRewardNode function is not validated allowing the attacker to set arbitrary values by calling the function. The hacker calls the changeRewardPerNode function to set daily reward value to an extremely large number, then claim the node reward via claimNodeReward. The calculation of node reward depends on the rewardPerDay value set by the hacker, resulting in a high calculated reward.
Funds seeding the attack were sourced from Tornado.Cash.
