The Twitter account of the famed Beeple artist, or Mike Winkelmann, was hacked and the scammer posted links for a new NFT collection supposedly a collaboration between Beeple and Louis Vuitton.
Two variants of the scams were detected. In the first scam, the scammer collected NFT mint fees and sent those collected to Tornado.cash. Approximately $73k or 36 ETH was collected.
The other variant of the scam, NFTs were taken from user wallets that connected to be minted to be sold. This one resulted in $365k of NFTs from collections such as Mutant Ape Yacht Club, VeeFriends and Otherdeeds, among others.
