Lack of access control, public initialize function without permissions
Days in Operation:
Genomes.io is a private and secure DNA data bank that puts you back in control of your genome. The project reported that it is aware of a 'situation' regarding the GenomesDAO LP tokens.
According to SlowMist, since the initialize function of GenomesDAO's LPSTAKING contract is publicly callable and has no permissions, the attacker uses the initialized function to set the contract's stakingToken to fake LP token created by them. After which they pledged those fake tokens to obtain LPStaking deposit certificates and redeemed them for real LP collateral from the contract.
Approx. 25 WETH were taken.
