NUM token of Numbers Protocol was exploited due to its incompatibility with the Multichain Router. The token does not have the permit() function as required by the router allowing the exploiter to utilize the fallback function to make the exploit. Unfortunately this impact one user resulting in a total loss of 557,754.45000198 NUM, or ~13 Ether.
The attacker created a fake anyToken, which uses the NUM as the underlying token. Then the attacker tricked the Router to transfer any NUM token approved to it by calling the anySwapOutUnderlyingWithPermit().
The original attack was front-run by a bot. The bot paid 10 Ether out of the whole profit in bribes to the builder.
