Tribes of Ogun is a pay-for-play chain game promoted by celebrity Instagram influencer, the Real Tarzann (Mike Holston) with 6.2 million followers. https://twitter.com/therealtarzann
The project promised an ambitious roadmap that included creating a strategy game, generous giveaways including trips to Africa, and donations to the World Wildlife Fund. Various prominent influencers and athletes helped to hype the project in advance of its mint.
The project was rugpulled and Holston got away with $700,000.
As reported by zachxbt, the project was first announced in Oct 2021 as a 5,500 pfp collection at a price of 0.068 ETH promising roadmap items such as large giveaways, strategy game, charity donations, & more. The team vanished by end of November with zero explanation since. Both the Instagram & Twitter have also remained inactive. However, by December the roadmap was deleted and solcial media are mostly silent.
