Private key leak
Days in Operation:
ZB Exchange claimed itself to be 'the world's most secure digital exchange' with over $1B in trades daily stopped withdrawals in response to a security incident.
Blockchain security company PeckShield called attention to the likely exploit that seems to have drained $4.8 million in tether (USDT), polygon (MATIC), shiba inu (SHIB) and other digital currencies from the exchange’s hot wallet on Wednesday. Transaction records show that the tokens were later sold on several decentralized exchanges for ether (ETH). Certik Alert reported that Zbexchange have been hacked resulting in a loss of 2224 ETH. Beosin reported that this may be a private key compromise. FairyProof reported that two of ZB exchange’s hot wallets were suspected to be compromised.
